ISPs to RIAA: You sure you want to do this?

I've come out of a DayQuil-induced haze long enough to notice that the fired off a letter to the RIAA. It appears that service providers aren't keen to become Pinkerton the the RIAA's Union Pacific.

Displaying a lawyerly facility for hairsplitting, the RIAA's shyster Matt Oppenheim said "We're not asking them to police the Internet, we're asking them to comply with the law. If they were policing we wouldn't have this problem."

Quite. The RIAA isn't about to etrust their digital vigilantism to the ISPs.
